The Texas State Coordinator has developed a brochure to provide educators and parents information regarding the definition, common signs of dyslexia, and the requirements of the dyslexia program in a school. The brochure can be used as a part of the requirement in TAC §74.28(h) for districts to provide parent education related to dyslexia. Other possible uses include giving parents a copy when the district is recommending a student be assessed for dyslexia, providing parents a copy when the committee of knowledgeable persons makes an identification of dyslexia, or for educator staff development related to dyslexia awareness.
