COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL HEALTH PROGRAM |
The Comprehensive School Health Component of the Education Service Center-Region 17 is one of 20 members of the Texas School Health Network (TSHN) under the direction of the Texas Department of State Health Services. The mission of the Comprehensive School Health Network is to serve as the coordinating point and collaborative catalyst promoting healthy school environments and healthy behaviors of all students and district personnel. The responsibility of the Regional Health Specialist is two-fold: (a) to provide districts with professional development training, workshops, and technical assistance on health topics or legal issues and (b) to maintain an active network of agencies in both the public and private sector that provides support for the local district and regional health efforts. |
