Congratulations to Philomena DiGennaro! An article was published in the Texas Adult and Family Literacy Quarterly about a class and community project she spearheaded. Her ABE/GED and ESL classes worked together with several community partners to restore a historical cemetery that had been neglected for decades. In doing so, the students had to use reading, language, and math skills as well as life skills to complete this huge project. When the publishers of the Quarterly heard about this innovative class project, they asked for a written description of it and that has been published in the most recent issue for all the adult educaters in Texas to see! Way to go, Philomena! |
